Sleep City Metalworkers is the brainchild of John Charpentier whose interesting work in scoring and music production started in his early teen years. In fact, by the young age of 16, he had already released two EPs of symphonic electronica as Isotrophy. His interest in hip-hop and electronica and, by extension, trip-hop led him to collaborate with various local artists and filmmakers. You get the sense that there's an entire movie in each of his songs. Full of cinematic strokes, and propelled by influences like Boards of Canada, Prefuse 73, and DJ Shadow, it's no small wonder that it tugs a little bit at your heartstrings.
His website has tons of MP3s but here's a couple below including his most recent collection of demos. Check out his myspace for more info and downloadable songs.

Very moody stuff. I'm liking his other mp3s too on his site. Are there full-lengths of the songs on that demo track?
