Out of the blue, you're back and all of a sudden the years seem so... I don't know. You were a ghost, a flicker of a memory. Now you're real again. This is for you:

Desmond Williams - "Brooklyn Blues"
It's been a while since I've listened to this one, years even, but lately I've found myself picking up more downtempo, jazzy, dubbed-out tunes. My mood dictates what I crave, and I'm in no mood for shredding guitars, laser beam synths and anything glitchy today, and possibly all weekend long. I'm craving something sumptuous and smooth, reminiscent and warm. This song will do nicely. I'm addicted to the low pounding bass and sax-infused layers here -- mesmerizing and sexy. This is from Williams' dreamy Delights of the Garden (ESL, 2002).
My weekend is going to be great/interesting, and this song provides a small token of what it'll sound like if there ever were a soundtrack to my days and nights. Tonight. So the countdown begins. Discogs
The song is really great. There's something really beautifully done about your blog. Very mysterious and fresh. Please keep up the wonderful work.

I heard this song a long time ago and loved it but couldn't figure out who it was by. Was frustrating since my search was futile.
Now it's surface on your blog and I couldn't be more happier. You got yourself another reader! Love the site. Thank you so much

This is probably one of his best songs. I have the double LP. Others are good but not equally.
Nice selection.

Never heard of Desmond Williams before but I'm glad you exposed me to him. Wow. Can't get enough of those beats. Dirty yet classy dub. Love it. It's a real head-nodder.
I see how you chill now.
